Jefferson Cup Awards
We received notification that two of our wines received Jefferson Cup awards this year from the prestigious Jefferson Cup Invitational Wine Competition. Both Arrowhead Red and C2 received the top honors of this competition. Baltimore Bend Vineyard’s Last Minute received a Medal of American Excellence, similar to a gold medal in other wine competitions. The Jefferson Cup Invitational has celebrated its fourteenth year as the only competition that honors the best of the best among wineries from all of America’s wine regions.
The Jefferson Cup Invitational Wine Competition was founded by, is organized and run by Doug Frost, wine consultant and writer, and Master Sommelier and Master of Wine. According to Frost, “What we are doing is following Mr. Jefferson’s example and allowing every quality wine-producing region in America a place at our table. Each year we select great wines from across America; the 2013 competition included wines from twenty-two states.”
Come in and taste these wines!
Arrowhead Red – sweet Concord wine.
C2 – dry red, blended with Norton and Chambourcin, No oak aging on this wine.
Last Minute – semi-sweet red wine blended with Chambourcin and Catawba. This wine starts sweeter but finishes on the drier side.
